Kenji Kasahara

Founded in 2004, Kasahara’s Mixi was once Japan’s dominant social networking site and was regarded by investors as having the potential to overtake even Facebook. Bleeding customers in later years as its competitors raced ahead, Kasahara, 39, stepped down as CEO in 2013 to devote his attention to refocusing the business on mobile gaming, e-commerce and other online services like dating and property hunting. He has since overseen an astonishing turnaround marked by the success of the hit smartphone game Monster Strike which surpassed 30 million users in May.
