Wong stepped down from Keppel Land in December 2012 after 23 years with the group, the last 12 as its CEO and MD. The group performed strongly under his leadership. In the first nine months of 2012, net profit surged 62.2% to $311.1 million. The group sold 320 homes in that period, and completed phases of properties in Shanghai, Chengdu and Wuxi. Locally, it submitted the top bid for a suburban residential site along New Upper Changi Road, where it plans to develop 700 residential units. Keppel Land also garnered several awards in recognition of its efforts towards corporate excellence and sustainability. Among those clinched last year were five awards at the prestigious Euromoney Real Estate Awards 2012. It was also once again listed on both the Dow Jones Sustainability Asia Pacific and World Indices 2012/2013.
