Every artistic endeavour begins with inspiration – and for the Liens de Chaumet collection, that inspiration is love.
First introduced in 1970, the origin of the Liens collection is based on the love between Emperor Napoleon the First and Josephine, which continues to unfold through four expressions – Liens Évidence, Liens D’Amour, Jeux de Liens and Liens Séduction – that capture the many facets of love, from passion to friendship, and from love’s first blush to everlasting affection.
Liens jewellery is designed to draw and bond people together. Liens Évidence does this through purity of lines and graphic aesthetics that declare strength of conviction, while Liens D’Amour pledges commitment via solitaires enhanced by diamonds and coloured stones. Jeux de Liens conveys playful propositions with pieces in a cheerful palette that can be mixed and matched.
Just like these expressions, the new Liens Séduction displays the exquisite design and craftsmanship that has made this 230-year-old French jewellery maison one of the most admired.
Comprising slender and wide rings, bracelets, hoop earrings, ear studs, and pendants, each of the 16 pieces in the Liens Séduction collection is fashioned on a ribbon tied with the lightest touch. The jewellery is made in either white or rose gold, with some paved with brilliant-cut diamonds – which meet the high standards of carat, cut, colour and clarity defined by the Gemological Institute of America, and are therefore of superlative quality.
The story of these beautiful new love talismans is captured in a film directed by Matthew Brookes. Starting with a designer who imagines a ribbon of diamonds tied around the finger, and the jeweller who brings the piece to reality, to how the ring is passed between lovers and then as an heirloom from mother to daughter, the film expresses the genuine beauty of love and gifting – now and forever.
