Tong is CEO of Keppel Offshore & Marine, a global leader in offshore rig design, construction and repair, ship repair and conversion, and specialised shipbuilding. The company secured $7.3 billion in new orders across Brazil, Kazakhstan and Singapore in the third quarter, bringing its net order book to $13.1 billion as at end September 2012, with work extending to 2019. Keppel O&M celebrates its 10th anniversary this year with some impressive figures: In 2002, revenue stood at $1.9 billion, and total workforce at around 14,000. By the end of 2011, revenue had exceeded $5.7 billion, generated by a global workforce of close to 30,500. In November 2012, Keppel O&M subsidiaries in the Philippines and the Netherlands secured contracts totalling $160 million. The company has entered into a term sheet agreement with Golar LNG to work together on the conversion of up to three LNG vessels into Floating LNG (FLNG) vessels. As part of the agreement, Keppel Shipyard will start with a Front-End Engineering and Design (FEED) study to confirm the engineering and work scope. In addition to heading Kepple O&M, Tong is CEO of Keppel FELS and Keppel Shipyard, which, together with Keppel Singmarine, are subsidiaries of Keppel O&M.
