President for Southeast Asia and Managing Director for Singapore and Malaysia
As President of Bosch in Southeast Asia, Martin Hayes oversees the fastest growing region for the global supplier of technology and services. SEA sales rose 30 percent in 2012 to hit $1.13 billion, with Singapore's sales figure leading the pack, up 85 percent to $390 million. Hayes expects to maintain this momentum for a double digit growth in 2013. The last year saw the company increase its footprint in region by opening a representative office in the Myanmar capital Yangon. It also added to its presence in Thailand and the Philippines with offices in Chiang Mai and Cebu. In Indonesia, it announced its first manufacturing site, and its intention to begin manufacturing automotive technology in the greater Jakarta area from early 2014. The site will be Bosch's sixth manufacturing site in Southeast Asia — the current five manufacturing sites in the region are in Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam.
