To celebrate the third annual amfAR Gala Hong Kong, the most glamourous stars in the world descended on Shaw Studios, as over 600 guests mixed and mingled with local and international celebrities. The black-tie affair began with a cocktail reception featuring none other than Moët & Chandon's Impérial champagne.
Between the bubbles, all eyes were on the parade of boldface names that strutted down the red carpet; including Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron, supermodel Naomi Campbell, designer Kenneth Cole, actress Michelle Rodriguez, singer Charlie XCX, DJ Mark Ronson and other glitterati. Asian superstars Park Seo Joon, Rosamund Kwan, Jackie Chan and Michelle Yeoh glistened among the crowd who had gathered to support The Foundation for AIDS Research fundraising event, a night that also honoured Pansy Ho for her tremendous contributions to the cause.
Moët & Chandon offered, for the first time ever in Asia Pacific, the opportunity for a guest to purchase their very own Moët & Chandon vending machine, all proceeds of which went to amfAR. Originally designed as a promotional item for Selfridge’s department store in London, images of the gorgeously decadent Moët vending machine (it holds 315 bottles of Mini Moët) went viral soon after its launch, with demand quickly growing to have the iconic item at hot-ticket events. Select appearances at prestigious evenings including the Golden Globes after party and amfAR events around the world followed. This year, between the dinner and festivities at the gala, guests such as Alex Lam, Myolie Wu, Antonia Li experienced the Moët & Chandon vending machine for themselves, before a thrilling volley of bids perforated the night as the opulent vending machine was auctioned. Finally, the hammer fell at US$80,000 in favour of the lucky winning bidder. In total, thanks in part to Moët Hennessy’s support, the gala raised more than US$3.5 million for amfAR.
Beyond its support with auction lots, Moët Hennessy served Moët & Chandon Champagne, Belvedere Vodka, Hennessy V.S.O.P Privilège, Glenmorangie The Original, Boroli Barolo DOCG 2011 and Boroli Bel Ami Langhe Chardonnay DOC 2014 to assembled guests, to accompany a spectacular dinner.
As the Official and Exclusive Wine and Spirits Partner for amfAR events around the world, Moët Hennessy has been part of city’s most successful and high-profile AIDS benefits since day one.
