For many years, signs of ageing such as pigment spots have been widely associated with smoking and UV damage, but recent studies indicate air pollution – a considerable issue in Asia – can also accelerate such problems.
Armed with these findings, leading skincare brand Kiehl’s conducted new tests on its Clearly Corrective collection to determine its effectiveness in combating the harmful effects of air pollution on skin. The range includes Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution, Skin Brightening Exfoliator and Clarity-Activating Toner.
The vast majority of test participants – 96.5 percent – agreed that when applied as a complete regimen, the range improved skin brightness and radiance, and in a clinical test Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution was proven to improve clarity by nearly 23 per cent when used on its own.
Another effective way to achieve luminous skin is by incorporating Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective White Hydrating & Clarifying Treatment Masque into skin routines. Developed and tested for Asian skin, a single application of the masque offers brightness-improvement results equal to three weeks’ usage twice daily of Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution. Over a three-week period, 93 per cent of women witnessed a significant improvement in skin clarity, radiance and hydration after using this innovative masque twice a week in conjunction with the Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution.
Dr Geoffrey Genesky, head of Kiehl’s skincare laboratory and its research and innovation manager, says masks are intended to offer immediate skin improvement and may also work to boost an existing regimen. “Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Masque serves this purpose. It has a razor-sharp focus on improving skin clarity and dark spot reduction,” he explains.
Kiehl’s also offers a smart solution for under-eye circles: its Clearly Corrective Dark Circle Perfector with SPF30 is a lightweight eye cream that instantly brightens, reduces discoloration and protects against future darkening.
