Cap Juluca: Belmond’s Third Caribbean Paradise

The brand previously known as Orient-Express has acquired a luxury resort in Anguilla.

Belmond, the international operator of luxury hotels, trains and river cruises that formerly went under the Orient-Express name, has added another resort to its growing portfolio. Located in the Caribbean, in the British Overseas Territory of Anguilla, Belmond Cap Juluca is a 96-room property on the shore of Maunday’s Bay, which lies on island’s southern coast.

Designed in Greco-Moorish style, and with sea-facing suites and villas set among tropical gardens, Cap Juluca is the archetypal island paradise. Fronting soft white sand and clear turquoise waters, it features a quartet of restaurants and bars, a saltwater swimming pool, a fitness centre and a library with private screening room.

A rolling programme of expansion and refurbishment will inevitably follow the Belmond acquisition, with work on new beachfront villas and suites planned for early 2018. Also in the pipeline are refreshed interiors for the existing accommodations and enhanced public areas, while the creation of a full luxury spa is naturally a priority.

Renovations to Cap Juluca, which is Belmond’s third hotel in the Caribbean, are expected to be complete by the end of next year.
