Buy a Ferrari for charity

To benefit earthquake victims in Central Italy, RM Sotheby’s is auctioning off this one-of-a-kind LaFerrari.

Petrol heads and fans of Ferrari, you could be driving off with an extraordinary LaFerrari, while contributing to a good cause.

This weekend, auction house RM Sotheby’s has partnered up with the Italian marque for a charity auction. Held on December 3 and in collaboration with the National Italian American Foundation’s Earthquake Relief Fund, the exclusive event will put a unique LaFerrari on the block during the Ferrari Finali Mondiali weekend at the Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida.

And it doesn’t matter if you can’t attend the event because the sale will allow a variety of remote bidding options, including telephone and absentee bidding.

Originally, the model by the Prancing Horse had a limited global production of only 499 coupes. But as gift from the automaker to its home country, this noteworthy hybrid 949bhp hypercar has been designed with one-of-a-kind interiors as tribute, with a special plaque to commemorate the occasion. All proceeds from the sale of this singular LaFerrari will benefit the reconstruction of Central Italy, which was damaged by devastating earthquakes in 2016.

Rob Myers, CEO and Chairman of RM Sotheby’s, says: “The earthquakes which have struck Central Italy this year devastated the lives of thousands of people and the money raised by the sale of this LaFerrari could not be put to a better use. The auction will be an historic event and the generosity of Ferrari SpA will change lives in the areas most affected by the natural disaster.”
