Kwee Liong Tek is the chairman of Pontiac Land and, with his three brothers, is among the biggest landlords in Singapore. Collectively, the four Kwee brothers take the number five slot on Forbes 2013 list of Singapore's 50 Richest, with an estimated net-worth of US$5.2 billion. Among its prime properties, the company counts the Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore, Conrad Centennial and Capella Singapore. Through a unit, Pontiac also has a 50-percent stake in the $592 million Capitol site redevelopment. His Patina Hotels & Resorts, a new luxury hotel chain, is scheduled to open its flagship hotel at the Capitol site at the end of 2014. Mid-2013, the Kwee brothers joined a group of Asian banks in negotiations with developer Hines to revive a stalled luxury condo development next to the Manhattan's Museum of Modern Art. The family is reportedly considering a $300 million equity investment in the metal and glass tower which was designed by Pritzker prize-winner, Jean Nouvel.
