Casa Loewe, the global boutique makeover dreamt up by Loewe Creative Director Jonathan Anderson, arrives at the upscale Paragon Shopping Centre, located in the heart of Orchard Road. Singapore is third city in the world to host this all-new store concept, first launched in Tokyo’s Omotesando in 2014, followed by Milan’s Via Montenapoleone later that same year.
Spanning nearly 3,000sq-ft, the new interior design makes the most of the spacious area to recreate the ambience of a stately home, characterised by walnut-toned display tables, linen, curtains and taupe wool carpets to evoke a cosy atmosphere. It is framed by stucco walls and polished Capri limestone flooring, with a facade of sleek Marquina marble in black. But what’s significant is the agate stone slab over the entrance — Anderson’s reinterpretation of the emerald green canopy, originally designed by Spanish architect Javier Carvajal in 1959 for the flagship store in Madrid.
To celebrate the grand opening, a Spanish artisan will give a live demonstration that showcases Spanish fashion house’s exquisite craftsmanship. Loewe fans can have their favourites personalised by hand from January 15-22.
Another nod to Loewe’s celebrated leather legacy comes in the form of the Elephant bag in red, a fitting Chinese New Year exclusive released two weeks ahead of its official launch. Other popular models — The Puzzle Bag, T Pouch, Elephant Coin Purse and a selection of small leather goods — will be offered in limited edition white.
